BOGHES DAE S'ARGENTIERA Voci dall'Argentiera. La Piccola Parigi (VOICES FROM ARGENTIERA. THE LITTLE PARIS)
The
documentary retraces a series of interviews collected in the locations of Argentiera, an old miners village in the province of Sassari: the voices are the memories of the inhabitants, last protagonists of those places. The reconstruction of life at that time emerges from their memories, together with the social and cultural outlines of those years, marked by the mining work and the fallacy of the mineral disease. The story unfolds through the telling, at times comic and melancholic, of six people and a young man who witnessed, through generations of mining families, the years when the mineral mining had made Argentiera a social microcosm: work and sacrifice, cinema, parties, but also social differences, the dangers of the mining galleries, the silicosis disease, the death.
Stories and emotions told by the Voices, those of Argentiera, who wanted, everyone through their own experience, give a very personal insight of the “Little Paris”, as they used to call it, a village, a small center survived until now despite the abandonment and depopulation, with its unique mining architectures.
